Wheelock College alumni Elizabeth Rose A’Vant ’80  says she knew she wanted to be a classroom teacher as early as when she was in first grade and her education at Wheelock equipped her to really prosper in the field. Field placements in daycare centers and schools gave her and her classmates a chance to experiment and apply the theories they were learning in the classroom.

“I came out on the top of my game; I knew child development and I knew learning theory,” she says. Now a school child psychologist, Elizabeth says Wheelock prepared her thoroughly for a career in education. “You can’t get a better education….It’s phenomenal.”
