Attention all members of the Social Work program: Center for Human Development’s annual Through Her Eyes Conference will be held on Friday, October 21st at the Mass Mutual Center in Springfield, MA…and you’re invited!
Center for Human Development is one of the largest social service organizations in Western Massachusetts, delivering a broad array of critical services with proven effectiveness, integrity and compassion. CHD has been helping people build strong, productive relationships since 1972 and is driven by a focus on excellence and a spirit of innovation. As a non-profit organization, the only motivation is helping people create successful lives and building respectful relationships.
The Through Her Eyes conference addresses the issues facing girls and young women at risk of personal and social dangers in our culture. The conference focuses on the most current methods and practices for working with girls confronting challenges in their lives. Notable professionals engage with educators, social workers, direct care staff, family members, and concerned citizens. This year’s conference will be held at the Mass Mutual Center in Springfield, MA on Friday, October 21st. There will be a chance for attendees to earn Continuing Education Units through educational and inspirational workshops and panels.
The keynote speaker will be Brenda Myers-Powell, co-founder of the Dreamcatcher Foundation. The Dreamcatcher Foundation fights to end human trafficking in Chicago. The not-for-profit organization works to prevent the sexual exploitation of at risk youth and helps current prostitutes find confidence and stability beyond the limitations of their current lifestyle. There will be an incredible line up of 17 workshops throughout the day of the conference to educate attendees on new methods and practices that are used to face these pressing issues.
