Wheelock students tend to be people who show passion for all that they do, and Lauren Bird is an excellent example. Lauren graduated from Wheelock in 2014 with a double major in Early Childhood Education and American Studies and a Theatre minor. Upon arriving on campus, Lauren never saw herself as a leader and wasn’t sure what she wanted to do. The various clubs and resources the Wheelock campus has to offer quickly changed her mind, and soon she was getting involved. She says that the climate on campus made her feel like she was really a part of something, and she began taking various leadership positions – secretary of the Student Government Association, president of her Class Council, becoming a student adviser and working as a student success mentor.
“I had never seen myself as a leader and all of a sudden I was involved in all of these clubs and involved in these positions… I’ve gained so much my from my experiences and leadership roles on this campus.”
