With funding from the State Street Foundation , Wheelock College is excited to announce the launch of two training and development courses as part of our new program for adult learners: Course to College & Career (CCC). Recognizing Boston’s need for affordable, transitional education (bridge) programs geared toward nontraditional learners, Wheelock will offer two classes this June. They will cater to learners who are prepared to take on college coursework, as well as those who may be just steps away from achieving this goal. Specifically, CCC will serve adult/English Language Learner (ELL) students who need additional support to succeed in post-secondary education.
One of the two courses, Reading, Writing, and Telling Life Stories for adults/ELLs, will prepare students with high-level English proficiency for college-level coursework. This course will be held on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. starting on June 19. Due to grant support, the cost for the course is $400, and participants who successfully complete it will be awarded a certificate of completion and/or continuing education units (CEUs) or professional development points (PDPs).
The other of the two courses, Introduction to Literature , is a traditional college literature course. It will be held on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6 p.m. to 8:55 p.m., starting on June 19. Due to grant support, the cost of this course is $450, and participants who successfully complete it will be awarded a certificate of completion and CEUs, PDPs, or college credit.
