Coming together to make a difference: Wheelock Giving Day

Every year, nearly 2,000 members of the Wheelock community give back to the College through philanthropy. These supporters represent every part of our community: alumni, parents, students, faculty, staff, and friends of Wheelock. Some of the College’s most loyal donors have made a tremendous impact — ensuring that scholarships continue to be available — with yearly gifts for decades.

In 2016, over 300 individuals have given each year for 10 years or more, and among that group, some have supported Wheelock for 20, 30, or even 40 years. Wheelock College, our community, would not be the same without the dedicated supporters who are committed to our future.

Each person who donates to Wheelock makes meaningful learning experiences possible, preparing the next generation to lead the way in improving the lives of children and families. Giving is one way to have a voice, and Wheelock donors are using their gift to show what is important to them. Whether these gifts are $5 or $50,000, each one makes a difference.

Participation in individual giving is incredibly important because it truly makes student scholarships possible. Participation is also important because it is a vote of confidence for the College and its graduates. Many foundations and ratings agencies like US News and World Reports ask about individual giving before making a decision to support a college. They want to know how those closest to the college feel about the school and whether they support it financially — so higher participation rates translate directly into increased outside funding for Wheelock.

Join Wheelock community members from around the world and cast YOUR vote of confidence for Wheelock by making a gift on March 30 as part of Wheelock Giving Day.
