Over & Over: An Exhibit by Erica Licea-Kane July 5 – 30, 2017

You are invited to a solo art exhibit by Erica Licea-Kane, Wheelock College associate professor of Arts and director of Wheelock College’s Towne Art Gallery.

The exhibit is in temporary residence at the Kingston Gallery in Boston’s South End.

Licea-Kane’s art has evolved from her textile training. This is evident in both visible and structural grids and the inherent repetition within each piece coming from the most basic levels of textile creation. In place of textiles, Licea-Kane creates lines and texture with a pastry bag as she extrudes acrylic medium to make surfaces that invoke fabric or enlarged weaves. She works hard at manipulating the material so that the surfaces are obscure, prompting questions about process and time invested.
