Dr. Dines has been researching and writing about the porn industry for well over twenty years. She is co-editor of the best-selling textbook Gender, Race and Class in Media and she has written numerous articles on pornography, media images of women and representations of race in pop culture. She is a recipient of the Myers Center Award for the Study of Human Rights in North America, and is a founding member of the activist group, Stop Porn Culture. Dr. Dines’ latest book is Pornland: How Porn Has Hijacked Our Sexuality.

Gail Dines is a regular guest on television and radio shows. She has appeared in Time, Newsweek, Vogue, and Cosmopolitan, and has worked with Hollywood studios to develop strategies for creating progressive images of women on national television. She is also a featured speaker in documentaries such as “Beyond Killing Us Softly: The Strength to Resist and Mickey Mouse Monopoly.”
